Statement From Scott Walker and Rebecca Kleefisch
Wauwatosa – Lieutenant Governor-Elect Rebecca Kleefisch issued the following statement today:
“Later today, I will begin elective chemotherapy to ensure that the tumor that was successfully removed from my colon in August will never come back. As a 35-year-old wife and mother with 2 small children, I am following the recommendation of my doctor to begin preventative treatment. I was given the choice of whether to do chemo, and we decided as a family that it's the right choice for me. I expect to keep a full, normal work schedule over the course of the treatments and can't wait to start the exciting work of getting Wisconsin back to work again!”
Governor-Elect Scott Walker issued the following statement:
“Rebecca has shown remarkable strength and determination throughout a very long statewide campaign, while at the same time, undergoing successful cancer treatment. Tonette and I will continue to support Rebecca and Joel and their daughters Ella and Violet through this treatment and transition period.”
Rebecca is cancer free. As with many cancer survivors, she was given a choice of undergoing chemotherapy to ensure that her cancer does not return.
