Wauwatosa – Scott Walker, Milwaukee County executive and candidate for governor, said that the announcement by the president of yet another “jobs” bill is an admission the stimulus bill is a failure.
“Today’s announcement of yet another so-called ‘jobs’ bill by the president is an admission that his summer stimulus spending spree was an outright failure,” said Walker. “It seems like every time the president opens his mouth, he spends another $50 billion of our money to ‘create jobs’ but instead we continue to see spiraling unemployment.
It’s outrageous that despite a failing record of creating jobs, Jim Doyle and Tom Barrett continue to endorse President Obama's spend-o-rama stimulus-fueled $810 million boondoggle train from Milwaukee to Madison that ‘creates’ only 55 permanent jobs - at the cost of $14.7 million per job!
This Labor Day, it's time we focus on policies that will allow the people, not the government, to create jobs. My plan means lower taxes, less spending, and a reduction of the regulation and litigation burden to bring 250,000 jobs to our state by 2015. It's time for Obama, Barrett, and Doyle to admit that their big government approach has failed. Unlike Mayor Barrett, I believe people create jobs, not the government, and as governor, I look forward to getting government out of the way to make Wisconsin a great place in which to do business.”
