Wauwatosa – Scott Walker, Milwaukee County executive and Republican candidate for governor, today announced a multi-day Brown Bag Bus Tour in the lead up to the Republican Primary.  Scott’s Brown Bag Bus will hit stops from Green Bay, to Superior, to Scott’s hometown of Delavan, to Milwaukee County and everywhere in-between.  The first stop will be in Green Bay on Thursday, September 9th.

“We continue to see overwhelming support for our Brown Bag message of less government, lower taxes, and job creation to all parts of our state,” said Walker.  “I don’t have millions of dollars to spend on TV ads like Congressman Neumann does.  But I have something better – the overwhelming grassroots support from everyday families.  I can’t wait to bring our Brown Bag Bus Tour and our message of lower taxes and less spending to all parts of the state.”

Scott Walker serves as Milwaukee County executive.  He was elected eight years ago when he joined with everyday families in taking back their government after a pension scandal rocked the community, costing taxpayers millions.  After being elected on a promise clean up county government and spend taxpayer money as if it were his own, over the past eight years Scott and his wife Tonette have given over $370,000 of Scott’s personal salary back to the taxpayers.  Walker packs his own brown bag lunch to save money in his family budget, and has approached his county budget the same way, cutting out waste and doing more with less.  Walker has cut the county debt by 10%, cut the county workforce by 20% and introduced eight consecutive budgets without an increase to the property tax levy from the previous year – even announcing an a surplus in his most recent budget.
