Volunteers from across the state again surpass goal; Wisconsin again #1 in voter contacts

Wauwatosa. – On Saturday, August 21st, volunteers from across Wisconsin again surpassed lofty goals to make 103,133 voter contacts to support Scott Walker and other endorsed Republican candidates.  Republican volunteers reached more voters on Saturday than GOP volunteers in any other state, as was the case for July’s “100 Day Dash.”

“We are so proud to have this level of grassroots support for a new direction in Wisconsin,” said Walker.  “Our plan for lower taxes, less government, and more jobs is not only being met with approval in Wisconsin, but outright excitement as everyday people from all corners of our state roll up their sleeves to help make that plan a reality.”

The bar was once again raised for the August 21st “Summer Showdown” after July’s “100 Day Dash” goal of 65,000 calls and 6,500 doors was shattered with 70,176 calls and 9,004 doors.  Volunteers surpassed the “June Challenge” goal of 26,000 calls and 2,600 doors by making 41,894 phone calls and knocking on 4,584 doors on June 26th.

Scott Walker recently announced the largest fundraising haul of any Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate ever with $2.5 million raised from 21,049 individual donations, 71% of which were from individuals giving $50 or less.  This spring, Walker received the endorsement of thousands of grassroots supporters at the GOP state convention with 91.3% of the vote.
