Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker will be at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, to attend the annual summer picnic of the Fond du Lac County Republican Party.

Walker, a Republican candidate for governor, will highlight his plan for reforming a state government that is facing mounting job losses and a historic budget deficit.

The site of the GOP picnic is Oven Island at Lakeside Park.

"During a time when the economy is suffering and people are struggling to survive, Governor Doyle has raised taxes — this time by over $2 billion," said Walker in a news release. "Sadly, this has forced even more jobs and residents to leave our great state. We need to provide incentives for businesses and residents to remain in Wisconsin, and this includes providing a pro-business climate with a decreased tax burden that will foster job growth and economic success."
