“Grebe’s experience and leadership will help build on campaign’s momentum.”

[Wauwatosa, WI] Scott Walker announced today that Michael W. Grebe will chair his campaign for Governor in the upcoming 2010 fall election. Grebe will join with Walker later today in welcoming former Speaker Newt Gingrich to Milwaukee for an event supporting his candidacy. Mr. Grebe will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the event.

“Wisconsin voters aren’t satisfied with the direction our state is headed and neither am I,” Grebe stated. “Scott Walker is the candidate for Governor who best represents our opportunity to bring prosperity back to families and employers across this great state.”

Walker noted that Grebe’s new role with the campaign highlights the excitement of today’s sold out fundraiser with Gingrich. Grebe joins with over 150 current and former Republican Party officials and 48 Assembly and Senate GOP Legislators who have endorsed Scott Walker’s candidacy for Governor of Wisconsin.

“I am so proud to have Mike’s experience to help guide our campaign,” said Walker. “The leadership Mike has provided on issues ranging from education to economic development will be critical as we set out a new vision to get Wisconsin working again.”

Michael W. Grebe is currently the President and CEO of the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee. Mr. Grebe served on the Bradley board of directors for six years before being named as president. Prior to joining the foundation, Mr. Grebe was the chairman and CEO of Foley & Lardner, one of the country's largest law firms, where he was a partner for more than 25 years.

He chairs the Greater Milwaukee Committee, a business and civic organization that is active in the region’s economic debate, and the Milwaukee 7 regional economic development advisory council.

An Army veteran of Vietnam and former Republican National Committeeman for Wisconsin, Grebe has served on numerous boards, including stints at the United States Military Academy, the Wisconsin Board of Veterans Affairs, the University of Wisconsin's Board of Regents, Stanford's Hoover Institution, the Oshkosh Truck Company, and the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. He currently serves on the board of The Philanthropy Roundtable.
